Tips For Balanced Diet And Maintaining Good Health

Everyone knows that a healthy diet, exercise and rest are important for maintaining good health. But while you’re in college, it can seem like a daunting task. Often, sweets, fast food, caffeine, and alcohol outweigh the health benefits when you’re with friends or under stress from activity. Here are some tips to help you stay healthy despite your college days.

Nutrition

Eat a variety of healthy foods. In fact, there are over 40 different foods that your body needs for good health and there is no single source for them. Your daily diet should contain a balance of good fats, proteins, fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Check out USDA’s dietary guidelines at mypyramid.gov.

Food. Eating a balanced diet will make it easier for you to eat what you want and maintain a healthy and balanced diet. What is a suitable vaccine? Medium Fruit Slice is one serving. A cup of pasta equals 2 ounces and a liter of ice cream equals 4 ounces.

Relax

  • Keep yourself organized to eliminate unnecessary and preventable stress.
  • Turn off the TV and listen to music.
  • Make time everyday, even if it’s just 15 minutes, for relaxation and reflection.
  • Get plenty of sleep.
  • Allow at least 30 minutes of quiet relaxing activity before bed at night, e.g. reading.
  • Resist the temptation to use sleeping pills, when under the stress of writing papers, studying, etc.
  • Sleep is not a waste of time! It’s as important and necessary as nutrition and exercise.

Social health

Join us and meet people in a wonderful atmosphere. Going to college is often difficult, especially when students don’t have the support they know about throughout their lives. Whether you join a sports club or the Rhodes Student Council, join a religious organization, volunteer at a dinner or donate, it will help us. The most important thing to remember is to find what we enjoy and what we enjoy.
